We are very excited to announce that the JOSB has signed an agreement with the Franz Schubert Philharmonia Orchestra that will enable fifteen musicians from the Barcelona Youth Symphony Orchestra to play with the prestigious FSF on a tour of six concerts at the end of January 2023 with the Disney in Concert programme. www.franzschubertfilh.com

The master specialist in soundtracks, Marc Timón, will be in charge of conducting these very special concerts that will feature the singers Judith Tobella, main soprano in Disney In Concert; Nerea Rodríguez, the soprano chosen to perform the first Disney Princess anthem; Manu Pilas, the tenor voice of Bella Cíao from La Casa de Papel, and the baritone Germán de la Riva.
Programme No. 4 of the season will take us from the Palau de la Música Catalana to the Palacio de Congresos de Barbastro and the debut of the JOSB in the Auditorio de Zaragoza.
Under the musical direction of Carlos Checa, the programme includes a premiere work by the young composer Lucas Altaba, the concerto for two clarinets and orchestra Op.35 by F.Krommer and the Symphony No.4 by R.Schumann. Raúl López and Queralt Planas, musicians of the JOSB, dream the clarinet soloists.

We are very excited to announce that the group BLAUMUT is commemorating its tenth anniversary with the BLAUMUT 10 TOUR, a symphonic tour of the group that will be carried out jointly with the Barcelona Youth Symphony Orchestra conducted by Carlos Checa.
The tour of their discography in emblematic Halls and Festivals in symphonic version, will start from spring 2023.

The Venezuelan maestro Joshua Dos Santos replaces at the last minute maestro Ramón Tebar who unfortunately will not be able to conduct the JOSB due to urgent family medical reasons.
The renowned conductor Dos Santos thus returns to Barcelona where he has collaborated since 2015 with the JOSB in three different symphonic programmes and last conducted the orchestra in March 2019.
The Second Program of the Season brings us the fantastic Overture-Fantasy of Tchaikovsky’s Romeo and Juliet and the famous “Scottish” Symphony by Felix Mendelsshon, two masterpieces of the symphonic repertoire conducted by Carlos Checa with concerts at La Sedeta, Teatre Monumental de Mataró and at the Palau de la Música Catalana, this last concert will be in solidarity with Banc dels Aliments.

On September 30, October 1 and 2, we begin the 8th Season with a tour of Tarragona.
Concerts in the Teatro Auditorio de l’Hospitalet del Infant, in the Priory church of Reus and Palau de la Música Catalana. Three concerts conducted by Carlos Checa with the wonderful music of Sergei Rachmaninov and his famous Second Symphony.

On July 4, the JOSB was invited by the FPdGI to participate in the Princess of Girona Awards Ceremony. A string quartet from the orchestra performed two live songs for TVE’s La 2, one of them with the young singer Maria Reyné.
Thursday, July 21 at 12 noon, presentation of the VIII Season 22/23 at the Palau de la Música Catalana.
Soraya Rodríguez, director of Rne4 and Carlos Checa, titular and artistic director of the Barcelona Youth Symphony Orchestra, will talk about the news of the 22/23 Season.
The press conference will take place in the rehearsal room of the Orfeó Català.
