Christian Vásquez will conduct the JOSB in the program núm.3 of the VI Season. The internationally renowned Venezuelan maestro will conduct the Symphony No. 3. “Heroica” by Ludwig Van Beethoven on February 7, 2021 at the Barcelona Auditorium, offering a solidarity concert in favor of UNICEF.
Musician of the JOSB since 2016, Martí Miranda will be soloist at the second program of the Season.
Martí Miranda Castells will play the concert for Horn and orchestra by Reinhold Glière with the JOSB conducted by Carlos Checa.
Biography.
Martí is born at Barcelona the year 1998. At the 10 years commences with the horn studies at the school of his neighbourhood accredited by the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music of the United Kingdom. With 14 years commences at getting classes of the teacher David Bonet that it will be who prepare it for the accès at the Conservatory of the Liceu of Barcelona where will study with the teacher Francisco Rodríguez with who gruadarà this year 2020. Martí is musician of Barcelona Youth Symphony Orchestra since November of 2016 and at the last four seasons at the JOSB has taken part in more of 20 different symphonic programs. Also at the last years like pupil at the Conservatory of the Liceu, Martí has the opportunity to take part in divereses masterclasses with important names of the panorama trompístic how Stefan Dohr, Alessio Allegrini or David Cooper. It collaborates regularly with the Orquesta Filarmónica del Mediterraneo, the Orquesta de Cambra de l’Empordà, and the Orquestra Simfònica de Sant Cugat among of others. At the 2019 got the second prize at the Mediterraneo Horn Meeting Competition at Minori, Italy.

The VI Season will start on October 2020 with two concerts conducted by Carlos Checa and two masterpieces; the Symphony No. 3 in F major Op. 90 by Johanes Brahms and Suite No. 2 of “The Three-Cornered Hat” by Manuel de Falla.

VI SEASON 2020-2021

Auditions Season 20/21, with at least six different symphonic programs, as well as concerts in the Auditorium of Barcelona, Palau de la Música Catalana among others.

Auditions
Auditions will be held in La Sedeta, C/ Sicília 321, Barcelona view mapa
After submitting the online application form, applicants will be sent an email with their scheduled audition date and time. On audition day they must present:
Applicants will be evaluated on the basis of level, musicianship, tone quality, intonation, rhythmic accuracy and expressiveness, according to applicants’ age. Auditions will consist of two parts. In the first part applicants will be asked to interpret their chosen audition excerpt (concert, sonata, etc.) and it will last a maximum of 10 minutes.In the second part applicants will be asked to sight read.Those participants to perform their audition without piano accompaniment.
Admissions
Within a week after auditions are finished, applicants will be notified of their application results via email. Successful applicants (including those aged 26) will be granted a two-year position in the JOSB.
Membership requires a six-monthly fee of 250 € every year.(October-April)
The Trombone, the Tuba and the Percussion have a reduced half-yearly rate in JOSB).
Unsuccessful candidates may be contacted for future openings and they will be included in the instrumental bag of the Orchestra.

This concert, which will play the young musicien Martí Miranda, is offered by the JOSB on the occasion of a charitable cause carried out by the “Mans a les Mans” Foundation that fights against child poverty in the city of Barcelona where they have been accompanying for more fifteen years to children and young people of the city.
