RAFAEL ADOBAS, flute soloist.

How excited we are to hear Rafael Adobas, founding musician of the JOSB in 2015, now as guest soloist in the last programme of the 8th Season, where he will perform Mozart’s Concerto in D major for Flute and Orchestra, conducted by maestro Xavier Puig.

Brief Biography:

Rafael Adobas was awarded third prize and the Special Prize for Best Performance of Thomas Larcher’s commissioned work at the 2019 Carl Nielsen International Flute Competition, and first prize at the 10th Kobe International Flute Competition in 2022, Spanish-Filipino flutist Rafael Adobas Bayog is part of a new generation of flutists who combine musical creation with other artistic disciplines. He has performed as a soloist with the Copenhagen Philharmonic and the Odense Symphony Orchestra. After a career of concerts on the international scene, she makes her debut at Carnegie Hall in New York in 2022 with the support of the Siemens Arts Program. She studied at the ESMUC with Vicens Prats, and later at the Hochschule für Musik in Munich, where she was taught by Andrea Lieberknecht and Natalie Schwaabe (piccolo). At the same time, she studied baroque flute with Marion Treupel-Franck also at the Musikhochschule in Munich.
